Featured: Archer Hosts Annual Charity Event
Archer Commercial Insurance Group hosted its’ annual Christmas Cocktail event benefiting the Bread of Life Inc.’s “Miss A Meal” Campaign to feed the homeless. The event raised enough funds to provide 10,000 meals to those in need!
On December 11, 2012, Johnte’ Archer, owner of Archer Commercial Insurance Group along with guests and sponsors including Clyde Drexler, Colbert/Ball Tax Services, Grey Goose, the Houston Rockets, Houston Controller Ronald Green, and many more gave a fabulous showing at the Mosaic’s grand rooftop lounge. Over 200 guests dined on glorious bites of delectable hors d’oeuvres and indulged in Grey Goose inspired “mistle-tinis,” South African wines sponsored by Branwar Wines along with a full service premium bar. Guests danced the night away to the hip sounds and mixes of “DJ Supastar” infused with live acoustic performances by radio personality Dana Jackson and Tony Henry. On this night, the outpour of support and awareness for the needs of our homeless was overwhelming.
The Bread of Life Inc.’s “Miss A Meal” marketing campaign features Houston’s own Tina Knowles as its first celebrity face, with her daughter, Beyonce’ endorsing the campaign on social media later this week. The “Miss A Meal” campaign asks those who are able, to miss one meal and use the funds to feed those less fortunate. The campaign has several ways to give including texting “PLATE” to 50555 which will donate $5, on the campaign’s website www.missameal.net, or the Bread of Life’s website at www.breadoflifeinc.org.
The generosity overflowed as we raised several thousands of dollars for the charity. Donors such as Clyde Drexler, Liz Lloyd of the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bears’ Lance Briggs, Dikembe Mutombo, and Houston Texans Andre Johnson, Matt Schaub, and Antoine Caldwell provided memorabilia for our fabulous silent auction.
The event’s host, Johnte’ Archer, wanted guests and supporters to know “I am so grateful for the love and support of everyone who made this event possible. Whether you donated generously or just told a friend about the campaign, I will forever be grateful that you were a part of this amazing night and that you will continue to spread the word. It only takes ONE plate!”
